Holdrege – Entrepreneurial Mindset Matters, in partnership with SCEDD and PK Partnership, is spreading the message of growth utilizing the Ice House curriculum. Free introductory sessions will familiarize community influencers with the positive impact of the entrepreneurial mindset and empowering ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. The free introductory sessions will be offered from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 23 and Saturday, February 25 from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. at AgWest, 415 W 4th Ave, Holdrege.
The Ice House is an innovative and interactive program, created by the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative (ELI) and sponsored by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Using the book, “Who Owns the Ice House? Eight Life Lessons from an Unlikely Entrepreneur” and interviews with real entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds, the Ice House empowers participants to find success. It teaches students, employees, business owners and entrepreneurs how to recognize opportunities and turn ideas into action. Through this course, participants of all ages, education levels, incomes, and life experiences will learn to embrace a new perspective that provides opportunities for success.
Betty Streff, a participant in the YMCA Women’s Entrepreneurial Mindset class states, “The principles taught in this class are far broader than a checklist for budding entrepreneurs. This is all about fostering a new way to think.
Problem solving, resourcefulness, service, and reframing failure are skills that can be used by every person in every life situation! This is excellent training for anyone, in any work, that faces the public. Furthermore, it should be part of early childhood teaching because it totally eradicates any beliefs of entitlement.”
